How do we realize 'real' Medtech solutions that require fewer 'hands' in the patient's treatment process?
The risk of expensive and pointless healthcare innovations cannot simply be recognized at the front of innovation projects. But retrospective efficiency research does speak volumes: 50% of innovation projects yield tools that are not demonstrably better than the existing alternative. In Europe, this is a waste of billions of euros. Unacceptable at a time when we all strive for appropriate care. The good news is that this waste can be avoided by putting more energy into it up front, with questions such as: how much should the innovation cost generate certain effectiveness and - crucial to prevent projects from derailing or bogging down - how to organize the evaluation, so that we can make proper and timely adjustments? In the fireside chat, manufacturers of MedTech products, education experts, healthcare institutions and other specialists from the industry have their say and discuss with each other. This session, like the fire from the hearth, will crackle from different interests and visions on combating current problems.
