Clinical applicability of IMUs for 3D movement analysis

The presentation will give an outline of the shortcomings of clinical 3D gait analysis using infrared markers. It will explain why it is essential to develop and use innovative techniques such as inertial measurement units (IMU's) for clinical motion analysis. Its main focus will be the ecological validity of clinical gait analysis using infrared markers in children with cerebral palsy, and an overview will be given on current and upcoming research in this area.
