Reducing Environmental Impact - beyond showcasing initiatives
A pitch to outline various facets of REDUCE, providing practical examples of reducing demand for, materials use in, and waste and environmental impact of products used in healthcare. Given some 70% of emissions are Scope 3, care providers are heavily reliant on their suppliers. The significant challenges of mobilising suppliers and their supply chain to deliver widespread and enduring improvements – and opportunities - are highlighted.

Louise Knight: co-Director EL-IPS (European Lab for Innovative Purchasing and Supply). Focusing on public/healthcare procurement's strategic and policy roles in promoting innovation and supporting sustainability transitions. Project Coordinator HEU CSA PROCEDIN (www.procedin.eu) on embedding innovation capability. Currently researching procurement of innovation, resilience and rivalry in procurement systems, and market stewarding by buying organizations.
