In the presentation 2 PIHC projects will show the value of collaborating directly with healthcare professionals. In the project Wearable Breathing Trainer we work with paediatric physiotherapists and specialsts in the MST & DZ towards a vest that can coach children during breathing exercises. In ACHILLES we improve the IV treatment for young children with a smart sleeve.

Biography

Hellen van Rees is a designer/researcher who focusses on the creation of textile products and prototypes. She’s involved in several projects in the field of wearables, focussing on healthcare-wellbeing. Her projects revolve around collaborating with various experts and stakeholders, co-creating and prototyping. Adding another dimension to textiles; functionalities to transform textiles from passive to an active, functional material in meaningful products.
